What is the minimum age or grade requirement to participate in CYO Basketball?
There is no minimum age requirement to register for CYO Basketball. However, it is expected that every player who registers has the basic hand-eye coordination and physical strength necessary to dribble and shoot a basketball. CYO uses regulation 10-foot basketball hoops and does not lower or modify hoop heights for younger players. Parents should consider whether their child can comfortably participate and shoot the basketball toward a 10-foot hoop before registering. Our goal is to provide every player with an opportunity to participate while making sure they are prepared for the equipment and playing conditions used during CYO practices and games.
